Business Checking Accounts

Business Checking with Big Advantages for any Size Business
Whether a sole proprietorship, non-profit, or corporation, Aliant has a checking account that can help maximize your time and resources. You can choose an account that saves fees or earns interest or both, and even choose how you receive your monthly statement, such as in a free E-Statement or in a printed statement with images. You can write as many checks as you want each month and use Secure Access Manager, which turns your office or home computer into a virtual branch of our bank. And, pay your bills online with Aliant Bank’s Bill Pay for Business. It costs $9.95 per month up to 25 items, then $0.55 for each item after 25.

Business 250
Business 250 is a business checking account that Aliant has specifically designed for sole proprietors, associations, partnerships, corporations, limited liability companies, and non-profit organizations that routinely have fewer than 250 items processed each month. Open Business 250 requires a minimum deposit of $100.

Additional fees that may apply to your account are:

Processed items over 250 (per item)

$0.29

Return item fee (per item)

$6.00

There is no monthly maintenance fee, though negative daily collected balances are subject to a borrowed funds fee, which may change at the bank’s discretion.

Business Interest Checking
A great choice for sole proprietors, government agencies, and non-profit organizations that primarily operate for religious, philanthropic, charitable, educational and similar reasons but who want to earn interest on their checking account funds. Business Interest Checking lets you earn a competitive market rate on 90% of your daily collected balance and can be opened with a minimum deposit of $1,500.

Applicable service charges on Interest Checking are:

Checks paid (per item)

$0.20

Deposits made (per item)

$0.30

"On Us" checks deposited (per item)

$0.09

"Not On Us" checks deposited (per item)

$0.11

Returned item fee (per item)

$6.00

At the present time, the interest rate is variable and tiered, depending on your daily collected balance.
With Interest Checking, there is no monthly maintenance fee if average monthly balance is $4,000 or more. Otherwise, a monthly maintenance fee of $12 applies.  Please ask for current rates and annual percentage yields on each balance tier.

Master Business Checking
Master Business Checking features a generous earnings credit allowance to reduce or even eliminate your checking fees.  This feature makes this account the ideal choice for sole proprietors, associations, partnerships, corporations, limited liability companies, and non-profit organizations that routinely have a considerable amount of checking activity. Open Master Business Checking with a minimum deposit of $100. Here is how it works.

First, Aliant calculates a number of basic fees on your Master Business Checking each month, depending on activity:

Monthly maintenance fee

$15.00

Checks paid (per item)

$0.16

Deposits made (per item)

$0.30

"On Us" deposited checks (per item)

$0.09

"Not On Us" deposited checks (per item)

$0.11

Return check fee (per item)

$6.00

Second, Aliant applies an earnings credit on 90% of the daily collected balance in your account. The higher your balance, the greater your earnings credit will be. The average ledger balance is also subject to an FDIC insurance fee based on current FDIC rates. After the earnings credit and FDIC insurance fee are taken into consideration, the maintenance and activity charges shown above will be reduced or even offset entirely, making Master Business Checking a great value.
