In Internet banking, as with traditional banking methods, security is a primary concern. We have taken precautions to ensure your information is transmitted safely and securely. This level of security is achieved in part by:

• Maintaining isolation of our computers from the Internet.

For your protection, Aliant Bank's internet banking system transmits data using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology which supports 128-bit key encryption. This represents one of the highest industry standards for online security.

The Aliant Bank web server does not connect directly to the Internet. It is buffered from the Internet through the use of a firewall. All access from outside of the bank must go through this firewall which screens the requests and allows only valid hypertext transfer protocol (http) traffic to reach the server.

Aliant Bank does not recommend the sharing of your PIN or other personal information with a third party for the purpose of establishing or supporting the use of account consolidation and aggregation services. Extreme caution should be exercised if one chooses to utilize such a service, and it should be understood that doing so is solely at the user's own risk.
